Those of us who understand human nature know that business communication that brings joy and pleasure is a gift. The experience of social life makes most people tougher and more distrustful. The pursuit of self-realization for one often hinders another's life. And the phenomenon of manipulation becomes not just a specific case of communicative practice, but a style of interaction between people. Manipulation of consciousness, manipulation of feelings, zombification, submission to someone else's will, testing one's ability to 'take a hit,' and finally, deception—these are the phenomena that are becoming widespread now, at the turn of the century. It's time to defend ourselves! Or... study them?
