The Fifth Seal

1944, Budapest. On an autumn evening in a small tavern, four old friends – a watchmaker, a bookseller, a carpenter, and the tavern owner – spend time with a carafe of homemade wine and conversations about life's trifles. Outside the... tavern – a curfew and rampant nihilistic terror, inside – an island of stability and tranquility. The friends console themselves with the thought that, as small people, they can't influence anything anyway. Besides, they have nothing to reproach themselves for, their conscience is clear.
…In just twenty-four hours, all four will face the hardest choice possible – when preserving human dignity will only be attainable at the cost of life.
