of Sciences, Professor Yu. A. Alexandrovsky.
The first part includes excerpts from the notes of A.M. Gorky "On Russian Peasantry", the novella by Yu.S. Semyonov "The Death of Peter", the diaries of the French ambassador in Russia at the beginning of the last century M. Paleolog, essays "Russian Character" by Academician T.B. Dmitrieva, and the lecture by physiologist, Academician I.P. Pavlov "On the Russian Mind", which tell about the psychological features of Russian people that have persisted over centuries and shape national characteristics. These materials from rare publications allow us to see both the characteristic traits of our predecessors and the distinctive qualities acquired over time. The compiler has made brief comments on some of the materials.
The second part of the book is written by Yu.A. Alexandrovsky after becoming acquainted with the diverse opinions of the authors of the first chapters. His view reflects the modern understanding of human character traits and their influence on the life path of each of us.
