The book includes two stories by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: "The Little Prince" and "Southern Mail." Between these works... lies 14 years and a whole life.
The author's first story, "Southern Mail," is a sad tale of love, rivalry, loss, and the eternal search for oneself. However, in the slightly uneven, at times lyrical, at times almost documentary narrative, we encounter familiar thoughts: "For us, true distances are measured by stars," "There is nothing more fragile in the world than hope," "I loved the life I didn't fully understand. Perhaps it wasn't entirely real?" And it seems to us that it was Jacques Bernis who went far into the desert to meet there, 14 years later, the golden-haired boy from a distant star and to finally understand the life he loved so much.
