Bob Lee Swagger, a celebrated hero of the Vietnam War and one of the best marksmen in America, has long retired, leads a secluded life, and seems to be satisfied with everything. One day, a young journalist visits him, intending... to write a book about Bob's father, a World War II participant and later a police officer, who was killed by gangsters. The son cannot refuse the journalist's help in gathering materials, as it concerns his father, and during the search, it becomes clear that the circumstances of Swagger Sr.'s murder are not at all as the investigation presented.
