Alexandra Osipovna Ishimova – a Russian writer, publisher, friend of P. A. Vyazemsky, V. A. Zhukovsky, and A. S. Pushkin. The main work of her life is "History of Russia in Stories for Children." The book brought A. O. Ishimova... nationwide fame. The Imperial Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences highly appreciated the writer's work: "The writing of Madame Ishimova is warmed by love for the Fatherland, aimed at moral benefit, and can encourage children to read Russian history attentively." These words are true even today. A. O. Ishimova's books, as before, attract readers who love not only the history of their native country but also good, quality literature. The book includes stories dedicated to the formation of the Kievan Rus, its flourishing and downfall, and the emergence of the Moscow principality (802–1304).
