«The Nutcracker and the Mouse King» – is a classic Christmas tale written by the great German writer Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann. On Christmas Eve, little Maria receives an unusual gift – a wooden Nutcracker meant for cracking nuts. It soon becomes clear that the Nutcracker is not just a toy, but an enchanted prince who is in danger from the evil Mouse King and his army. The text of the work is adapted for beginners studying the German language (levels A1-A2 – Grundstufe) and is accompanied by comments. After the fairy tale, exercises with keys are offered. At the end of the book, there is a glossary of the vocabulary used to facilitate reading.
