Indian Nocturne

An unnamed hero embarks on a captivating journey through India to find a missing friend. His search will lead him into a shady hotel, a Portuguese monastery, and a Theosophical society. By the end of the journey, the true reason for this trip will be revealed. The novel, adapted into film in 1989 by Alain Corneau, is published in Russian for the first time, marking the fortieth anniversary of the book's first publication. Antonio Tabucchi is a world-renowned author, his works have received multiple awards, and he gained global fame with the novel "Pereira Maintains." In 1987, "Indian Nocturne" was recognized in France as the best foreign novel, awarded the "Medici Prize," and adapted into film in 1989 by director Alain Corneau. The film "Indian Nocturne" was nominated for a "César" award in several categories and won for best cinematography.
