Water and Dreams. An Essay on the Imagination of Matter

The main theme of the research "Water and Dreams" is the influence of primordial elements on our unconscious; the search for those interconnections that unite human psychic life with the life of nature. Bachelard, studying the broad layers of philosophical and literary heritage, seeks an answer to the question: "Do we imagine the matter that surrounds us or, as Tyutchev wrote, are we ourselves merely the dreams of Nature?"
