The Wizard of Oz

The book presents the fairy tale by Frank Baum about the adventures of a girl named Dorothy and her loyal friends in the Magical Land. On the way to the Emerald City, the friends must overcome many dangers and perform... numerous heroic deeds.
The tale is adapted using Ilya Frank's method: it is provided with a literal translation into Russian and necessary lexical-grammatical commentary (without simplifying the original text).
The uniqueness of the method lies in the fact that the memorization of words and expressions occurs through their repeatability, without cramming and the need to use a dictionary. Furthermore, the reader becomes accustomed to the logic of the English language and starts to "feel" it.
This guide promotes effective language acquisition and can serve as a complement to the educational program.
