The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

This book is a new edition of "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen." It is printed based on the French edition by Charles Furne (1794-1859), for which Gustave Doré created a cycle of illustrations in 1872, including 118 drawings in the... text and 29 separate full-page illustrations. The text is presented in the translation by E.I. Peskovskaya, which she created for the edition of M.O. Wolf, published in 1889 and then repeatedly reprinted. This is the most accurate translation of the work by R.E. Raspe and G.A. Bürger into Russian, and thus the closest to the original German edition of 1786. The text, free from later changes and layers of the 19th and 20th centuries, along with the complete set of Doré's illustrations, makes this book a new, accurate, and comprehensive edition of "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" in modern Russia.
