Maxim Shustov, a 19-year-old student of the Faculty of Journalism, and his friends - Dima and Anya - continue their investigation, which began in Moscow with the study of the painting "The Mansion on Prechistenka". After India, the heroes head... to Peru and hope that South America will be the final point in their dangerous journey. Maxim has obtained an ancient statuette of an unknown deity, which is supposed to guide the way through the Amazon jungle to the mystical City of the Sun, which Maxim's father spent almost his entire life searching for. The heroes follow the trail of the expedition of the Peruvian planter Carlos del Campo and the Russian manufacturer Alexei Zatrapezny to uncover the greatest mystery of the Chavin civilization and, more importantly, to save their loved ones from death.
