"Noria" – an amazing economic city-building game set in a steampunk world! Here, cities float among the clouds, and knowledge reigns supreme! You will compete for it, as well as for various goods. Build powerful factories to process resources, explore... islands, and enjoy the views, but most importantly – make the greatest contribution to great projects to win! Yes, we will all work for the common good, but there will be only one winner – the one who has done the most for the prosperity of the people.
No matter which sphere you enter, whether in beautification, airships, processing, or scientific research, everyone will be able to showcase their talent! The country of Noria is on the brink of great discoveries, and you will lead Noria into a new era!
The core of the game features a unique mechanic with wheels – these are unique boards with three rotating rings that have slots for disks. The disks offer you various actions, so the main goal of the player is to optimize and expand their set of actions according to their strategy, while also occasionally bribing politicians to increase the value of their investments.
This is a very interesting mechanic and deep game, which also features a rare setting in the steampunk world. Additionally, the game offers complex rules for experienced players.
How to play?
The game lasts a certain number of rounds, depending on the number of players. Each round consists of four phases; let’s look at them:
Influence Phase – in this phase, you can change the position of the disks using one of two actions. "Night Shift" allows you to turn the middle or large ring one division clockwise along with the disks. The action "Modification" allows you to change the position of the disks on your wheel.
Action Phase – in this phase, you can activate disks of seven different types: energy, obsidian, mycelium, cities, tools, bonuses, and travel, each of which has its own effect. You can also upgrade disks, which will give you an advantage. In this phase, you can trade goods and knowledge on the "Black Market," or skip activation to gain knowledge.
Politics Phase – an optional action that allows you to weave "Intrigues" by moving politicians, thereby increasing the value of your investments.
Management Phase – players receive knowledge for factories and turn the wheel.
Then the turn passes to the next player.
Who won?
The game ends when the 14th, 15th, or 16th round is completed, depending on the number of players. It is necessary to count the number of points brought by representatives in different chambers. The player with the highest number of points at the end of the game wins.
