Board game - Autumn Forest

Autumn in the Savernak forest is coming to an end... Help the animals gather and stock up food for the winter! "Autumn Forest" is a game in which 2-4 players build their own section of the forest with paths along... which animals and food will appear. To earn the most points, players must ensure that each path allows animals to collect their favorite food.

Foxes, hedgehogs, beavers, owls, rabbits, woodpeckers, wild cats... The Savernak forest is home to up to 23 different species of animals. At the end of autumn, they all prepare to spend the cold winter with a sufficient supply of provisions, and you must help them… For the game, you have two decks of square cards: one depicting animals, and the other featuring forest paths filled with delicious food. Each player is randomly dealt an animal card, which indicates how much food they can store and their preferences. For example, a fox likes eggs but not berries or nuts. To achieve the best result, you must try to make each animal collect its favorite food.

During setup, three road cards and one animal card are laid out for all players. On their turn, each player will choose one of them and add it to their forest, always following the rules:
- there can never be two animals on the same path;
- cards must be adjacent, and no cards may be placed outside the 4x4 grid.

The game ends when all players have filled their forest, consisting of a total of 16 cards. Throughout the game, some animals will assist players, depending on the card they choose from the central market. The rooster will help you wake up early, allowing you to choose a card first in the next turn. The armadillo teaches you how to dig the best shelters for storing more food, so you can take a burrow token and add it to one of your animal cards to increase that animal's capacity by 1. The goat teaches you to drink water better, offering a water drop token that can be combined with food to increase its value by 1. The rabbit will help you attract new animals to your forest.

For players looking for more challenging trials, the rulebook has a variant for two players with some modifications that increase the difficulty. A nice incentive if you have already mastered the basic rules! The game features beautiful graphics and offers the perfect balance between fun and strategy, making it ideal for any company.
