This book contains the best prose sayings of ancient thinkers, writers, orators, and theologians. All are provided with source references. A detailed index allows you to find statements on a variety of topics—from "Hell" to "Yamb".

This is by no means the first anthology of thoughts and sayings of the ancients. What distinguishes it from previous ones? First of all: its main source was not "ready-made" collections of sayings, but the works of the ancient authors themselves. The source of all quotes included in the book is indicated.
