Codex Alera. Book 3. Legions of Kalar

The power-hungry consul Kalar has raised a rebellion against the First Consul of Alera. To overthrow Gaius Sextus from the throne, Kalar has formed an alliance with the canim, Alera's most bitter enemies. In the new legion, assembled from all over the country and lacking combat experience, history, and traditions, the young Tavi Calderon serves in the modest position of assistant tribune under a false name. The true task of the former cursor is to be the "eyes and ears" of the First Consul, to uncover his enemies, and to thwart their plans. Tavi does not yet know that soon he will have to lead this legion — the last shield of Alera — and confront an army of sixty thousand fierce and ruthless canim. For the first time in Russian!
