On the Steps of Faith

Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh is rightly considered one of the most well-known Orthodox thinkers of the 20th century, and his rare visits to Russia each time became significant events in the religious life. It so happened that a person, living far from his homeland but constantly thinking of it and praying for it, spoke about what resonated in the hearts of many people around the world with something personal, native, and understandable. Having read an innumerable number of lectures throughout his life, conducting conversations and sermons, he never wrote his speeches in advance — the preparation for them was his own life, his invaluable accumulated experience. When published, the texts of Anthony of Sourozh always underwent only minimal editorial processing, so that the living word of the bishop could be preserved.
"On the Steps of Faith" is a book that covers themes of love, prayer, forgiveness, repentance, doubt, and the aspiration for a true spiritual life. Its trusting and deeply personal tone allows a person, while reading, to be renewed, reborn, to answer important questions for themselves, and to know the truly divine power of word and faith.
The publication is aimed not only at Orthodox readers but also at people who profess other faiths or are just searching for their path to it.
The book is released as part of the "Year of Metropolitan Anthony" (2023–2024), in anticipation of the 110th anniversary of his birth.
