The title of the book employs a transparent association with a dating site. Emotionally, it is very accurate - both contain a mixture of curiosity, sexuality, and taboo. Each visitor to the dating site is looking for something of their own: someone needs "one-time" sex for pleasure or "relieving tension", someone looks for a partner for serious relationships, and someone comes here out of curiosity or to "troll" the audience. For similar reasons, people also engage with psychoanalysis: for some, it is a short pleasure or a way to relieve stress, some connect with Freud's method for life, others encounter it out of curiosity, and there are those who seek to mock psychoanalysis. It is perfectly suited for that. It contains much that people usually laugh about - sex, "deviations", fantasies, uncertainty, dreams. Each person decides for themselves whether to laugh at others or to change themselves.
Once you step into the realm of psychoanalysis, you risk staying here for a long time. Perhaps you won't manage to fully embrace Freud's method, and it will remain in your friend zone. But there is a likelihood that psychoanalysis will touch your painful emotional points. And perhaps, over time, they will gradually turn into erogenous zones, bringing arousal and pleasure. There is no contradiction or masochism in this - the tendency to derive pleasure from suffering. Negative feelings, from which we run away in every possible way, can be transformed into positive ones. To do this, you need to work through them - to notice them, understand them, and accept their value. Then behind them, you will discover positive emotions that bring pleasure.
