Survivalist James Hillcoat prepares for the end of the world — building a shelter in the basement of his London home and stockpiling supplies. However, over time the basement begins to feel unsafe, and after an argument with his wife,... he secretly takes their eight-year-old daughter Peggy to an abandoned cabin in the middle of a remote forest somewhere in Germany. Thus begins the story of their survival. The story of the last two people on Earth, as Peggy thinks — for her father has convinced her that there is no one else left in the world… Nine years later, Peggy returns home to her mother, but attempts to uncover what happened in the forest lead to new mysteries.
