In a peaceful Copenhagen house, the body of a girl, Julia Stender, has been discovered with a pattern carved on her face. The investigation has been assigned to detectives Jeppe Kerner and Annette Werner. They establish a connection between Julia and an elderly lady from whom she was renting an apartment.
