Human eating behavior is a universal, vital need of the organism. Food supports our vital functions, providing us with the necessary energy resources for life and development.
However, human eating behavior is quite specific and unique, as it is endowed with...
different meanings – social and psychological.
We often use food as a way to seek enjoyment and "treat" stress, eating away our experiences. Food for us is not just a set of macronutrients, but also an important way of indirectly satisfying various needs, and that's great.
Unfortunately, it often happens that food becomes the only way to solve difficult tasks. Then eating behavior changes, losing its harmony. In this case, we are already talking about disharmonious eating behavior, which, "breaking" further, can lead to serious disorders – eating disorders.
Currently, the number of people suffering from uncontrolled overeating after exhausting diets and restrictions is increasing.
A significant influence on the growth of eating disorders is exerted by modern "glossy" culture, imposing standards of physical attractiveness and beauty, linking these parameters to success, happiness, realization, and finding the ideal partner. This complicates the task to a great extent, as the standards are not strictly imposed, but are presented under a sweet sauce of self-care.
Accepting oneself, one's body and appearance is a labor-intensive task, and eating disorders challenge many specialists.

● 30 cards with words
● Instructions.
Exercise "My Eating Behavior".
Sit comfortably, take a couple of deep breaths, and try to think about your eating behavior. Focus all your attention on it.
Take the deck with images. While browsing the cards, select those that you think describe your eating behavior. Try to rely on your inner feelings.
Lay out the selected cards. Look at them, listen to your feelings and thoughts.
Now take the deck with words and try to verbalize your feelings and thoughts. Choose as many words and expressions as you consider necessary.
Lay the word cards around the picture cards.
Look at the resulting collage, try once again to listen to your feelings, emotions and thoughts.
Now try to answer the following questions:
1) What are the features of my eating behavior?
2) What metaphor can be used to describe my eating behavior?
3) How do I relate to my eating behavior? What do I like and what worries me?
4) How does my eating behavior help me and how does it hinder me?
If you want to awaken unconscious processes and get more spontaneous answers, try this exercise in the "blind" version.
