Medieval India. In her early childhood, Queen Shandella saved Kaatyani, after which identical tattoos magically appeared on the girls’ bodies. The bond of souls allowed them to feel each other from a distance. Kaatyani grew up in a royal family and lived up to the expectations placed on her: she became the best guard of the queen and an advisor to the crown prince. For many years, the confrontation between two dynasties has continued, and after another assassination attempt, the princes, accompanied by Kaatyani, are forced to go to the gurukula – a school in the middle of the forest. The girl must not only protect her brothers but also hone her skills to become a worthy opponent and support for her state. But Kaatyani has been cast as a pawn in the deadly games between two demon-infested kingdoms. Even Daksh, the attractive and secretive young man, cannot help when the girl is accused of treachery. In her attempts to avoid a deadly fate, Kaatyani flees to the lands of the demons, the Yatu and Vetala. Now she must look into her past to save all that is dear in the present.
