40 Dialogues. Student's Self-Expression in Theatre Arts

 

Zigurds Neimanis, National Theatre actor, director, leader of theatre arts classes, offers 40 witty dialogues on various topics in different genres. The dialogues are a useful educational tool for students of all ages in literature and theatre arts classes, in... class periods, in interest education classes, as well as in various school events to stimulate imagination, creative self-exploration and expression, and to enhance communication skills and understanding of theatre as an interdisciplinary art form. These dialogues fit perfectly into the new educational content acquisition, which includes not only the development of understanding and attitudes towards different art forms but also the ability to analyze them independently and gain a justified conviction about one's own abilities.
The author shares his long-term experience working with students: “When working with children or teenagers of the same age, a teacher should not ignore the fact that they are quite different. For some, the imagination works almost flawlessly, it is easily stimulated, so students quickly immerse themselves in the situations offered in the dialogues. Meanwhile, others are hindered by their inherent or otherwise acquired shyness. I suppose that the enactment of these dialogues could enhance any student's creativity and promote their expressiveness.”
The card set consists of 40 dialogue cards (two dialogues per card), each card is in two copies, so that students can work comfortably. In cards 41-44, the author explains how to act, comments on working with individual dialogues, and offers ideas to make the activities both meaningful and engaging.
