Identity and the Cycle of Life

Erik Erikson is a renowned American sociologist and one of the most cited psychologists of the 20th century. His concept of the stages of human development has had a significant impact on modern psychology. The book "Identity and the Cycle... of Life," which includes three early works of the master, along with the book "Childhood and Society," is considered by many specialists to be the best introduction to Erikson's theory. The first work, "The Development of the Ego and Historical Changes," is the quintessence of therapeutic and field observations that later formed the basis of the book "Childhood and Society." The second work, "Growth and Crises of a Healthy Personality," goes beyond adolescence and describes all eight stages of personality development. In the third work, "The Problem of Ego Identity," Erikson systematically examines the identity crisis from biographical, clinical, and social perspectives.
