«Eternaut» — the cult Argentine comic, the most famous work of the legendary duo — writer Héctor Germán Oesterheld and artist Alberto Breccia. The family of Juan Salvo and his friends, who have taken refuge in a house, miraculously survive. But there is no help to expect: in order to fight back against an unknown enemy, the heroes join the resistance. The deadly snowfall brings thoughts of nuclear war, but the opponent turns out to be much more sinister and dangerous than anyone could imagine. «Eternaut» became a foreboding of the catastrophe that occurred in Argentina from 1976 to 1983, and its heroes are a symbol of resistance in Latin America. Oesterheld, with terrifying insight, predicted not only the military dictatorship but also his own tragic fate: in 1977, the Argentine military arrested and killed the outstanding author and his four daughters. The story of Oesterheld, full of despair, interpreted by Breccia with his bold artistic experiments, in many respects ahead of its time and, like a true classic, resonates even today.
