"Eternaut" — a cult Argentinian comic, the most famous work of the legendary duo — writer Héctor Germán Oesterheld and artist Alberto Breccia. In Buenos Aires, snow falls that kills all living things and in an instant takes thousands of... lives. Juan Salvo's family and his friends, sheltered in a house, miraculously survive. But there is no help to be expected: to fight back against an unknown enemy, the heroes join the resistance. The deadly snowfall conjures thoughts of nuclear war, however, the enemy turns out to be much more sinister and dangerous than anyone could have imagined. "Eternaut" became a harbinger of the catastrophe that occurred in Argentina from 1976 to 1983, and its heroes became a symbol of resistance in Latin America. Oesterheld, with alarming insight, predicted not only the military dictatorship but also his own tragic fate: in 1977, Argentine military arrested and killed the outstanding author and his four daughters. The desperate story of Oesterheld in Breccia's interpretation, with his bold artistic experiments, in many ways was ahead of its time and, like a true classic, resonates even today.
