The first year of high school at Merryweather is going terribly for Melinda Sordino. Her friends hated her for calling the police and ruining the party at the end of summer vacation. Now Melinda is an outcast. So she decides once and for all to remain silent. The only escape she finds is in art class. With its help, Melinda tries to make sense of the nightmare she endured at the party. In the end, she will have to confront her greatest fear and begin to speak the truth.
