Calculating Stars

Elma York is a former pilot, a World War II veteran, and a brilliant mathematician. She is one of the first to calculate that the consequences of a catastrophic meteorite fall on the east coast of the USA are much more serious than initially thought and threaten to make the planet uninhabitable in the near future. Humanity launches a program for space exploration and colonization, and Elma dreams of participating in the Moon landing project. But it's the 1950s, and women, no matter how qualified they are, are not allowed to participate in the program. Elma must prove to everyone that she deserves to be the first female astronaut.
