Scandal at the Dragon Faculty

I am special. Of course, some will say that it’s all dreams and fantasies of a simple girl from the countryside, that my eyes are tired from endless vigil over embroidery. But I know for sure what I saw: my hand suddenly rippled and was covered with real scales! My sisters and mother insisted in unison that I was making it up. That I imagined it. Finally, I began to doubt myself. But the illusion did not disappear; the scales appeared again! Then there was a big scandal. My father accused my mother of infidelity, my mother screamed that at least one of her children did not take after their father – a delicate, fair-haired girl could not have been born from such a lout. And I firmly decided to go to the city and enroll in the academy at the dragon faculty. And let them only accept white-handed children from wealthy families. I will defend my right to a bright future! It turned out to be easier said than done. Naturally, no one was waiting for me in the city with open arms. I don’t know how it would have turned out if not for Madam Clarissa. Her father forced her to study, while she dreamed of a free youth and a successful marriage. It was her idea to swap places with me: I get the dream of the academy, and she gets the long-awaited freedom! Now I am a happy student who will spend the next four years studying domestic magic. And I’m scared to even imagine what will happen if our conspiracy is suddenly revealed!
