Red Gas

Mysterious brutal murders of three seemingly unrelated individuals and a terrible explosion at a compressor station have shocked the Arctic town and are about to derail the "event of the century" - the launch of the gas pipeline "Siberia -... Western Europe." The local police are convinced that what happened is the work of prisoners who escaped from a high-security camp. However, a young investigator Anna Kovina, who has just arrived in Urengoy and has been assigned to this case, comes to completely different conclusions. Could it be that the wicked murders are just the first links in a chain of well-thought-out diversions? But then, who benefits from these diversions? All of this is presented in the novel by the recognized master of thriller prose Eduard Topol, first published in England in 1986.
