Father Serafim managed to weave from seemingly disconnected stories about the difficult fates of people a large and bright tapestry about the unity of the common fate of the Russian people, about the interconnection of human lives, based on fidelity to the faith of fathers and mothers. This connection of destinies in God's Providence helped the heroes of the tales to preserve the unquenchable lamp of faith in harsh years and pass it on to us.
