Problems of Method

In the work "Problems of Method" 1957, 1960, French philosopher and writer Jean-Paul Sartre attempts to reconcile Marxism with existentialism. Exploring the complex relationships between the two philosophical schools, Sartre suggests that they are actually compatible and even complement each other. Without this essay, written almost simultaneously with his programmatic work "Critique of Dialectical Reason" Volume 1 – 1960; Volume 2, unfinished, – 1985, it is impossible to get a sufficiently complete understanding of Sartre's philosophy.
