About the Cat. Poems by Russian Poets.

Kittens and big cats, purring and rowdy, homebodies and wanderers, gray and red — these whiskered favorites are always first in the hearts of their owners: it's no coincidence that they say cats rule the world. Poets dedicate poems to... them, and sometimes entire epics, artists paint portraits that one just wants to pet. The collection includes poems by Russian poets, whose main characters are cats. Daniil Kharms and Yunna Morits, Anna Akhmatova and Afanasy Fet, Sasha Cherny and Ivan Bunin, Taffy and Alexander Vvedensky admire and marvel at the cats. The book is decorated with works by the famous St. Petersburg artist Maria Pavlova. The cats in her drawings are warm, fluffy, and so alive that you would just expect them to start meowing.
