Child Suicide. A Look at the Problem.

The book summarizes the materials of the authors' long-term scientific and practical activities in studying the pressing social problem of child suicide. It describes the characteristics of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents in an accessible form, discusses the causes of such behavior, and outlines ways to prevent it, analyzes the peculiarities of a child's development in society and in the family, and provides real situations from the authors' practice.
The manual consists of three parts. The first part provides a characterization of child suicide, presents a classification of suicidal attempts, discusses ways to collect and analyze information about the causes of suicide, and questions related to conducting forensic psychological examinations. The second part is devoted to the analysis of the features of suicidal behavior, while the third part contains texts of specific forensic psychological examinations.
The book is addressed to teachers and psychologists, students and graduate students of pedagogical universities; it can also be useful to a wide range of readers—parents and specialists in the field of working with children and youth.
