Many characters of Shakespeare have become household names, entered our everyday vocabulary – but none of them can compare in this regard to the young Romeo and Juliet from medieval Verona and the stern Venetian Moor Othello, who have transformed into symbols of great, boundless love or cruel, soul-consuming jealousy. Romeo and Juliet and Othello are not just genius plays. They will live as long as feelings of love and jealousy exist among people, which means – always!
