We all have an ex we regret. But the ex-husband of prosecutor Jessica Yardley is a true nightmare. He is the infamous serial killer Eddie Cal, who has been sitting in prison awaiting execution for fourteen years. It seemed that Jessica had managed to cope with the nightmares of the past – to regain faith in herself, become a successful lawyer, and start a new happy life with her daughter… It seemed so, until an imitator of Eddie appeared, copying his signature. The killer brutally deals with married couples, leaving their children alive.
The FBI asks Jessica to participate in the hunt for the maniac. And this means that she must meet and establish contact with her ex-husband again – the man who literally tore her life apart. Eddie Cal claims he knows who the killer is. But in exchange for his help, he sets two conditions that Jessica cannot accept…
