The near future. The third world war has thundered on Earth. Russia, remaining among the victors, has again been called Rus', and in order to avoid past mistakes, has lowered the iron curtain between itself and the rest of the... world. The Orthodox Church has come to power, restoring spiritual ties and traditional values to its people. There is no more alcoholism and drug addiction, unemployment and crime, promiscuity and immorality. But, as is known, the well-being of some is always paid for by others. This is not a narrative of a great struggle and an inevitable victory; it is the story of small people caught in the grinding stones of History.
