Welcome to the amazing world of domestic science! Many still envision scientists as some kind of "aristocrats of the spirit," whose purpose is to serve exclusively higher goals. The world of a research institute (NII) is truly special. In a sense, it is a lost world - a relic of the late (USSR - much from the past era has been preserved, and most importantly, the spirit, the atmosphere itself. Science is generally conservative and traditional, paradoxically enough.
And thus, the author travels through this wonderful world and, of course, the reader, constantly discovering new, completely unexpected facets of working in the NII and the peculiarities of its inhabitants: the magnificent "jack-of-all-trades" Fyodor Petrovich Nevzorov, the leading technologist Semyon Viktorovich Puchkov, the director of the NII Fyodor Anatolyevich Ferzev, and of course, the colorful head of the laboratory Kirill Vitalyevich Voinovich, along with other most curious characters.
