The book contains 250 essays arranged in alphabetical order. Each of them includes reflections and associations triggered by different words: from apricot to apple, from astrophysics to esotericism. Some essays are entertaining, others are informative, and others are philosophical, but...
all together they address questions of the meaning of life, the structure of the world, religion and atheism, and social order.
This book is a visual aid for understanding one's own picture of the world and worldview. The author demonstrates a method of reflecting on the surrounding world, on history and modernity, on philosophy, politics, religion, and culture. The associative approach allows one to see and recognize their own picture of the world and the arsenal of worldview.
In each person's consciousness, elements of different worldviews are present: scientific, religious, mythological. We are not trained in how to use them, we do not know when to proceed from a scientific worldview and when from a religious one. Should one always only use one of them, rejecting the others as erroneous? Are worldviews flexible tools, or are they unchanging foundations? Does our picture of the world depend on the immediate state, and what should it "be"? Our pictures of the world are mosaic. In communication, we use words, believing that we understand them equally, but words have both commonly accepted meanings - as listed in dictionaries - and meanings that are unique to each individual, existing as emotional-image complexes.
The book is addressed to both those who have just begun to think about "the meaning of life" and those who have long and seriously immersed themselves in philosophical reflections.
