Introduction to the New Testament. Fourth Level: Sacred Scripture

The New Testament — a narrative of how God became a man — is the foundation of the Christian faith. The history of its creation, structure, and theological content make up the first book of the section Sacred Scripture. The author provides a general overview of the development of the New Testament story, constructing and assembling the main Gospel events into a unified whole. From the book, the reader will learn what is hidden behind familiar but poorly understood phrases: the Last Judgment, the Kingdom of Heaven, eternal life. Most importantly, they will read about the people who saw Christ in person, whose experiences are laid out in the New Testament books. Understanding what these people felt and what they believed, what they feared and what they hoped for, the reader will be able to find their own place in the Gospel story. Then, New Testament events will acquire a deeper meaning for them, and the words of Jesus Christ will become closer and clearer. The sixth book in the series Steps of Faith.
