Eighteen-year-old Debbie White lives on a farm with her mother Maeve and her uncle, Billy. Her mother spends her days meticulously recording her dreams, which she believes to be prophetic. The uncle lives in a trailer without wheels, resting on... concrete blocks in the garden behind the house, and often turns to the bottle...
 
From this familiar world, Debbie is about to move to a world that is its absolute opposite - she is admitted to Trinity College Dublin, the most prestigious university in Europe.
 
How will the naive and sincere Debbie fare in a world where people like her are either unnoticed or bullied? How will she accept it? And will she accept it?

Louisa Nihon studied English literature at Trinity College Dublin and then completed a creative writing course at Queen's University in Belfast. She lives with her parents on a family dairy farm in County Kildare in eastern Ireland. "Snowflake" is her first novel.
