GAME isnt OVER. Favorite consoles and games that whole generations played

This book will take you on a journey through the alleys of memory to the glorious days of your favorite consoles, games, and characters. It is dedicated to four decades of the development of console, computer, and portable games. Starting from the arcade classics on Atari consoles to the timeless hits on Nintendo, SEGA, and Sony PlayStation — this book examines the most important releases that turned video games into a huge industry and earned them worldwide love.
How did "Tetris" penetrate the Western market? What additional meanings do the symbols (cross, triangle, circle, and square) on controllers have? How did Mario almost become Mr. Video, and Lara Croft become Lara Cruz? Why does Nintendo owe its popularity to the Yakuza gangs, and why did Xbox never become popular in Japan? The first controller-glove, Power Glove from 1989, as well as the stories behind Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, The Legend of Zelda, Prince of Persia, Sonic, Warcraft, and Call of Duty — characters, games, consoles, and franchises that you loved (and perhaps still love).
Mike Diver not only recalls timeless hits but also pays tribute to less famous yet extremely important games, characters, controllers, and systems that helped shape the gaming world.
