Room of Death

At one of the resorts in the Bahamas, three people are killed by an unknown sniper: an American public figure, a journalist who was interviewing him, and a bodyguard. The shots were fired from an incredibly long distance. The local... police close the case, fearing that drug cartels are behind it. However, Deputy District Attorney Nance Laurel has reason to believe that this crime was ordered by the upper echelons of power. Possible witnesses begin to disappear under mysterious circumstances. For assistance in investigating the tangled case, the New York Police Department turns to outstanding criminologist Lincoln Rhyme. The paralyzed detective and his team must untangle the web of deaths, understand the motives and goals of the criminals, determine who is manipulating whom, bring the killers to justice, and most importantly — not make a mistake, as their career and their own lives depend on it.
