Book 1. Violetta Violetovna
Student Dania makes twenty-eight mistakes in dictation. He rearranges letters in words, skips syllables, and sometimes writes some letters twice. He struggles to remember the names of teachers and what they look like, loses his change of...
shoes, confuses backpacks, and even sometimes trips over flat ground.
From the outside, it seems that he is just daydreaming and does not want to be focused. Partly, of course, this is true. He knows perfectly well that there are much more important things in life. After all, what are these twenty-eight unfortunate mistakes compared to eternity? The teachers are horrified: how will he pass the OGE? Only a year left... The only person who can befriend Dania with letters and words is Violetta Violetovna.
Natalia Vishnyakova is a journalist and educator, the author of several books, screenplays, and plays for a children's puppet theater. There is every reason to believe that the image of the mysterious Violetta Violetovna is at least partly autobiographical. Perhaps she doesn't ride a motorcycle (though who knows!), but she definitely knows a thing or two about necklaces of volcanoes, guignol and will not shy away from asking for a portion of Saracen millet in the cafeteria. Artist Ekaterina Kolyhalina appreciated the imagery of the text and beautifully translated it into her favorite language - visual.
Book 2. An Attack of Optimism. Violetta Violetovna Returns
Summer has passed, Dania is already a tenth grader, and mistakes are still with him. Of course, not all twenty-eight, but sometimes words and letters still get mixed up and stick together in his head, like dumplings... This means that individual lessons - the fly Emma doesn't count! - with the insightful and witty Violetta Violetovna continue.
In the new school year, Dania awaits quite a few discoveries (for example, a wallet lost a long time ago), new friends, and an important mission: to translate the servants' quarrel from "Romeo and Juliet" into the most modern language possible.
Natalia Vishnyakova is a journalist and educator, the author of several books, screenplays and plays for a children's puppet theater. Like her magnificent heroine, she certainly knows why a bull and a bee are relatives and how to walk the path of understanding towards the truth. Ekaterina Kolyhalina visualized Dania's experiences and reflections.
