You have, of course, heard of Doctor Dolittle! Yes, yes, that kind doctor who lives in the small town of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh and treats animals. The story of his amazing life and adventures was told... exactly one hundred years ago by the English writer Hugh Lofting, and a little later it was translated into Russian by Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky.
However, grandfather Korney changed a lot in this story - he decided to leave some things unsaid and added some things of his own. Even the doctor himself is called differently by him - Aibolit.
