English Sonnet

The bilingual collection of English sonnets includes samples of this poetic form from four centuries - from the 16th to the early 20th. Among the thirty-three names presented in the collection are William Shakespeare, John Donne, John Milton, William Wordsworth,... Percy Bysshe Shelley, John Keats, Alfred Tennyson, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Oscar Wilde, William Butler Yeats, and other celebrated poets, as well as less known poets in Russia. The compiler is the well-known poet, translator, and researcher of English-language poetry G. M. Krzhizhanovsky, who also translated all the sonnets included in the collection. The book also includes an essay by G. M. Krzhizhanovsky on the sonnets of William Shakespeare.
