Post Office

«Post Office» — a fresh version of the novel, updated by translator Max Nemtsov. For Henry Chinaski, the author's alter ego, the post office — is hell, into which he has voluntarily entered. And in hell, there is no peace: one must fend off the annoying residents, waiting for non-existent deliveries, cover miles in unfriendly territory, listen to complaints, and evade extra work. And there is no way out, and the despair weighs down, from which there is no salvation — except for women and alcohol. Never before in literature had the post office looked so horrifying and alluring at the same time as in «Post Office» by Bukowski.
