The Laughing Vampire. Volume 1

"Recently, I turned twelve years old.

Three years ago, my father left my mother and me, and we began to live alone. When my mother died, I didn't know what to do.

The owner of a traveling circus, charming me with beautiful words, persuaded me to join his troupe. But instead of paradise, I found myself in hell.

The life of a circus performer is so hard that I seriously contemplate suicide. I can't sleep at night, I don't go to school, and I don't know what will happen to me the next day.

I am consumed by fear and uncertainty. What should I do? What can I do?"

Famous Japanese graphic artist Suehiro Maruo presents to the reader the tragic story of young orphan Midori Tsubaki, who tries to break free from the ugly world of circus illusions into an equally ugly real world.
