The author of the bestseller "I Hear You" and experienced psychiatrist Mark Goulston discusses how to deal with unbearable people.
We all occasionally encounter people with whom a constructive conversation is impossible. How to deal with them? How to talk to...
someone who is completely uncontrollable? In this book, renowned psychiatrist and consultant Mark Goulston explains how to emerge victorious from such destructive communication. He has extensive experience working with unbalanced individuals (which allowed him to create a negotiation course for the FBI), and he knows that traditional methods of communication and argumentation do not work with them.
This book is about how to communicate with unbearable individuals while maintaining your sanity. Inside, you will find specific psychological defense techniques against "everyday crazies" who infect others with their irrationality and are unable to resolve any issue constructively and rationally.
You will learn:
Why people behave the way they do
.
How instinctive reactions can escalate situations - and what to do about them
.
When to confront a problem and when to walk away from it
.
How to apply proven techniques described by the author.
This book
is for everyone who has to communicate with unbearable people.
