Challenge problem, complex task, challenge – this is an excellent opportunity to set goals and work towards their achievement. It is a chance to clearly plan one's actions for a specific period: day, week, month, academic quarter, half-year, etc. It... is a kind of competition: who does it faster, better. The tasks in the challenge notebook are small: 3–4 task examples per session. Each session is first checked and evaluated by the child with smileys, then by an adult: teacher, educator, or parent. In grade 3, the child will learn to quickly and accurately solve problems on: – addition and subtraction within 200 and 1000; – multiplication and division of one-digit numbers; – simple fractions. Challenge notebooks can be used in every lesson for independent work, at home for reinforcing learned material, during vacations, for quick repetition of certain topics in the curriculum.
