Anton Pavlovich Chekhov 1860-1904 - a Russian writer and playwright, known all over the world. The future writer was born in Taganrog into a merchant family and from a young age helped his father in his shop. In 1884, A.P.... Chekhov graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University and began practicing medicine. He started writing while still a student - in 1880, his short story and humor piece were published in the magazine Strizh. Since then, he constantly wrote short humorous stories under various pseudonyms, the most popular of which was Anton Chekhonte. In 1890, A.P. Chekhov traveled to Sakhalin, considered an island of imperial hard labor and exile, to study the history and life of convicts. In 1896, the writer completed his first play Uncle Vanya, which made a revolution in the dramaturgy of that time. Over the course of 25 years of creativity, A.P. Chekhov created more than 300 different works, many of which became classics of world literature. In A.P. Chekhov's stories, almost nothing significant happens. The author pays special attention to details, dialogue, and the description of the characters' everyday lives, and through these detailed descriptions, he shows us the inner world of the heroes and reflects on their fates. At the same time, the writer never imposes his point of view on the readers. Chekhov's humor is ruthless - it pulls the masks off the characters' carefully hidden faces of hypocrisy, meanness, greed, banality, and obsequiousness.
